EXPERIENCE

I have over 27 years of experience working with child and adolescent welfare, adolescent and adult mental health and behavioral issues, both inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment, school-based and home-based counseling, and private practice. I specialize in trauma, women’s issues, grief and loss, relationship conflict, mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, military/veteran population, ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder and eating disorders and currently work with adults from ages 17 and all the way to older adults, ages 65+. I have also served as a graduate level adjunct professor and clinical supervisor. Currently, I also serve on the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction & Prevention.

How can I help you? I value the client-counselor relationship. It is important to me that I provide my clients with a safe, caring and accepting environment. Everyone has different experiences, thoughts and feelings. For this reason, I utilize several evidence-based models of therapy including Cogntive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Counseling, Person-Centered Therapy and at the request of the client, I will use Christian/Spiritual Therapy approach. I am currently working towards certification as a Trauma Based Somatic Experiencing Professional. My job is to meet you where you are and develop a healthy, therapeutic connection with you. My goal is to provide you with tools in order to reach your own personal goals, both great and small. I think you will find that I am a down-to-earth and personable individual. I am genuine and passionate about my work and am always honored to be part of a person’s journey, as a helper. I look forward to hearing from you!
